The black stripes got distracting and made it a little hard to read. I would keep the color the same but maybe increase the font size for the Dylan and get rid of the black.

If you're going to keep one person another color, maybe get rid of the names separating the speakers (typers). When it was read aloud, you didn't keep going back to the speaker names.

Otherwise, I thought it was interesting about how it went back to the game at the end. Makes me wonder how often we do that when speaking.

I like the idea of different colored text to differentiate the speaker from the quoted text, but that black and red is rough to read.

OK, you have a new media conversation, but what could you do the help the reader understand your message and the conversation. Well, first fix the colors. Also, IM makes it pretty clear who is speaking, so you are good there.

I suggest two things. First, how about some links to info about the games or teams. Perhaps some images of the place you are talking about visiting?

Second, and more important, you need to insert your meta voice into this. Some asides, explanations about the characters speaking, why this game or team matters to you, why you think school sucks or the game is "gay" would be very helpful to the reader and give you a chance to add some textual artistry to this conversation.

Think back to our original conversation and how important the asides were in the "traditional" piece that we read.

Maybe a little bit too long cause it's kind of boring for someone who doesn't follow or like basketball. I like how there's two conversations going on though. The black lines are definitely distracting for the reader so you might want to fix that, and when dmaix17 says something it goes below his IM name and when you say something it's straight across. I think if it was both like yours it would be easier to follow. But overall the conversation was easy to understand.
